6 Instagram Accounts You Need To Follow If You’re Coming To Melbourne

We All Know Instagram Is The Best For Travel Inspiration....

Whether you’re looking up restaurants and bars in your dream destination, stalking your favourite travel blogger’s Insta stories or making a list of the most Insta-worthy places worth visiting, there’s no denying that Instagram is great for getting you inspired to travel.
Aside from being an incredibly Instagrammable city in it’s own right, there’s a big chance that Melbourne is the city you’ve been dreaming of. Whether you’re in the planning stages of your Australian adventure or you just have Melbourne on your mind, these 6 Instagram accounts will give you all the travel inspo you need.

@melbourneiloveyou is ran by Chris Cincotta. Not only is he a Melbourne legend, but a talented photographer that captures the true essence of Melbourne and its people. He is also the founder of @humansinmelbourne.

@melbourneiloveyou now shares other peoples stunning photos of Melbourne when you #melbourneiloveyou, so if you manage to get a beautiful snap of the city when you’re here, feel free to hashtag your life away!

Chris still gets behind the camera and captures Melbourne through a lens, often using his girlfriend @milymiss as his focus to compliment the city.

This account will inspire you to come to Melbourne, as well as tell you the beautiful stories of the people who live here, so jump on Instagram and start start scrolling.

Ben Stanton is the big dog Instagrammer of the Melbourne creatives. With just short of a 100k following, people really love the content he produces (and so do we).

Although you’ll find unreal shots from all over Australia on his feed, it’s Melbourne that he calls home and often uploads incredible photos of the city’s hidden gems.

Aside from running his Tiny House and taking stunning snaps of vineyards and the Victorian coastline, he can often be seen taking his DJI Mavic down to the Mornington Peninsula to the same beach that we visit on our Welcome To Melbourne tour.

Laura Bell has a hard life living between Melbourne in the Summer and Bali in the Winter, but I suppose someone has to do it.

If you’re after inspiration in the form of white sand, crashing waves, palm trees, swimming holes and the quintessential Australian surfer, you’ve come to the right place.

Laura’s an Adobe Lightroom expert and always seems to get the right tones for her pictures. Desire to immediately book a flight to Melbourne guaranteed.

Similar to @lauraalycebell, Melbourne local Phillip Mahoney loves to travel but saves his best images for Melbourne.

Whether he is chilling down on the Mornington Peninsula, exploring St Kilda Beach or getting epic views of the inner city like the picture above, Phillip’s work will never disappoint when it comes to giving you something to get excited about.

Kirk Richards is the latest photographer to catch my attention on Instagram. Most of his shots are taken outside of the city and in the great Victorian outdoors, meaning you’ll get great insight into how beautiful our country towns and coastal pockets are. The regional backdrops are something else…

His moody tones are sometimes contrasted with local models. You will no doubt be left feeling inspired to road trip to places such as The Great Ocean Road and The Grampians, which are an easy drive for Melbourne. Something to keep in mind for when you get here!

Kirk if you’re reading this (I know you’re not), keep up the good work.

6) @lushsux

When you think of Melbourne, our incredible Street Art should come to mind. If it doesn’t yet, then this account is perfect if you want to catch a glimpse of our unique laneways filled with the most incredible art.

By following the artists, you’ll be able to track when new pieces go up and where they are, meaning you can go off exploring on your own personal graffiti tour of Melbourne.

Lushsux is the artist behind a lot of our favourite pieces in the city and surrounds. He touches on a lot of topics from the media as well as a fair bit of political satire and people really relate to his art. Take a look for yourselves on his Insta, and be sure to visit the pieces in person when you touch down in Melbourne.

For the record we would have never EVER put our own Insta down until recently, but we’ve been working on it. It’s taken a lot of blood, sweat, tears and aching fingers, but we’re proud of our feed, which consists of all original photos. If you want to get an idea of what life on tour is like with us, then make sure to scroll through our feed.

Our improved Instagram game may also be due to the help and advice we received from the talented @benn_tk. The only reason he didn’t make the list is because he’s too busy travelling all over the world, but we know Melbourne’s still his favourite.

We may not have the biggest following, but hopefully our shots will inspire you to travel and, most importantly, come over to the best city in the world.
